OLSR Optimized Link State Routing protocol

Nach dem ersten grossen feldversuch am 10-12 june

anlaesslich der wizards-of-os in berlin, moechten wir

hier in Djursland auf der ffsc2004 einen zweiten feldversuch starten.

olsr ist ein proactives ad-hoc meshroutingprotokoll

fuer MANETs ( MobileAd-hocNETwork )

welches puenklich zur ffsc2004 von Andreas Tønnesen in der version 0.4.6

released wurde.

Wir moechten euch einladen, mit uns die neue version des protokolls zu

installieren und zu testen.

Das ganze wird morgen den ganzen tag in der mainhall an unserem

tisch stattfinden.

Dort werden bruno, elektra,nico und cven support geben

Dank der arbeit von Thomas Lopatic ist olsr0.4.6 nicht nur fuer linux

sondern auch fuer M$-windows verfuegbar.

Am montag ab 12uhr moechtet wir mit euch einen structurierten outdoor_test

durchfuehren. Es waere schoen, wenn sich soviel teilnehmer wie moeglich an dem

experiment beteiligen, um die moeglichkeiten und grenzen des protokolls

kennenzulernen.

After the first big field test on June 10th-12th at the wizards-of-opensource,

we will now start another big test here on

the freifunk.net summer convention in Djursland.

olsr is a proactive ad-hoc mesh routing protocoll for MANETs MobileAd-hocNETworks.Right in time the author of olsr Andreas Tonnesen released version 0.4.6.

We now want to invite everybody to install and test the latest version of

the protocol. This will happen all day long in the mainhall tomorrow.

You can meet Bruno, Elektra, Nico and Cven there who are looking forward to

supporting you with the installation. It would be nice if as many of you

as possible were to join this experiment because this is the only way to

really test the abilities of the olsr protocol.

Also on Monday, we want to go on an outdoor test. It would be great if as

many of you as possible joined the experiment.

to join the experiment at the ffsc2004 type this in your commandline

# iwconfig eth0 (device_name) mode ad-hoc essid olsr.freifunk.net channel 11

# ifconfig eth0 42.42.42.xxx

# olsrd -i eth0

We are having problems setting ssids with dots on some wifi cards, so I'm requesting that we use "olsr" as ssid. Can we do that?

we have no dhcp_server running in the olsr network, so grep an ip_addr
